WHAT IS THIS WEB PAGE ABOUT?

On this page I have tried to introduce the little known breeds Brabancon, Brussels Griffon and Griffon Belge to all people who are interested in them. As there is not much literature focused on this theme, this text could help everybody who wants to buy a small dog and is not able to choose from the big amount of the world breeds. I would also like to give interesting information about these breeds to prospective owners and new keepers of these dogs. In the text I am concentrating on Griffons´ character and distinction from other breeds. I plan to describe some common situations in the life with a Griffon. I don´t want to excerpt from the breed standard which is well known and is easy to find on other websites. I´d like to describe characteristics you cannot find in the standard.

I am drawing from my own experience with my bitch Aranka, her puppies, the borrowed sire, and also from the contact with other Griffons, usually at shows and agility races, from meetings with other Griffon breeders and owners, from the available literature and from our club consultant´s advice activity, who is Mrs Bertrandova. This text is written from my point of view and everybody does not have to agree with what I write. I admit that people who keep Griffons for 20 years are much more experienced than me, maybe I am even wrong in something. I want to keep this page open for all new remarks, questions and suggestions of other breeders and interested people. Please write, judge and criticize. However I insist on my right not to publicize texts I don´t agree with.
